Broken Spirits Distillery

A former nightclub space on The Promenade in Long Beach, once Portuguese Bend, became Broken Spirits, keeping its predecessor's hanging boat fixture over a bar redone in gold and copper metallics with U-shaped booths. Master distiller Massimiliano Stecca, previously of Blinking Owl, distills whiskey and aged aquavit on site and builds it into the cocktail list. Rebranded to spotlight Texas-style barbecue, the kitchen serves smash sliders and bowls at lunch alongside smoked brisket and tri-tip.
