Near the corner of Robertson and Santa Monica Boulevard, by the Pacific Design Center, this gay bar fills four rooms and a patio done up like a church, with stained glass, pews and religious statues. Elizabeth Taylor's portrait hangs at the bar. Martinis are the house drink, and the bar says the appletini was invented here. DJs take over at night, drag brunch runs every Saturday and Sunday, and The Chapel next door is the dance club. It opened in 1991 as a coffeehouse.
