This basement bar sits under a former office building at 6th and Spring, on the site of the Hotel Hayward's Rhythm Room, a jazz and blues club that ran through the 1940s and 50s before the hotel was boarded up in 1972. The revival keeps the marble staircase from the original run and adds a lower room lined with pool tables, ping pong and shuffleboard alongside a live jazz band. A wooden door under two gooseneck lamps next to the hotel entrance marks the way in, and the kitchen serves bar food like nachos and po'boys alongside the cocktail list.
