Empire State Building

A 102-story Art Deco tower designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon, the building was completed in May 1931 and has been featured in more than 250 films and TV series since King Kong climbed it in 1933. The 86th floor has both an enclosed gallery and an open-air deck, while the smaller 102nd floor observatory is fully enclosed near the top. Entry to either requires a reservation, and the ground-floor lobby keeps its original 1930s Art Deco detailing.
