A cabin-themed lodge in Gowanus built around axe throwing rather than as an afterthought: staff called Axe Pros teach the fundamentals before turning newcomers loose in a small indoor range. Seventy minutes of throwing comes with someone at each station the whole time, tracking scores and keeping things safe, plus a beer in hand between rounds. The kitchen sends out sliders, street tacos and a big soft pretzel, and there's an outdoor patio and board games like giant Jenga for anyone not throwing. Kids eight and up are welcome, and throwing an axe isn't required to hang out at the bar.
