Amsterdam Billiards

Comedian David Brenner and brothers Greg and Ethan Hunt opened this Union Square pool hall in 1989, outfitting it with oriental rugs and original oil paintings instead of the usual bare-bones dive setup. Twenty-five Brunswick tables share the floor with ping pong, darts, foosball, pinball and beer pong, plus two cocktail lounges and a run of flat-screens for anyone who'd rather watch a game. Tables run by the hour and get pricier on weekend nights, so groups without a reservation should expect a wait once the room fills up.
