Twenty-five rotating taps of American craft beer share the room with about 54 arcade machines at the Chelsea Barcade, from Donkey Kong and Bubble Bobble to the original Star Wars trilogy and NBA Jam, each game a quarter to play. Four friends, Kevin Beard, Scott Beard, Pete Langway, and Paul Kermizian, opened the first Barcade in a former metal shop on Union Avenue in Williamsburg in 2004. They trademarked the name in 2007 and have defended it in court since, and the Chelsea location on West 24th Street followed a decade later, in 2014, with the same format. No macro lager makes the tap list, only smaller American breweries.
