The waterfront saloon at 253 Conover Street has belonged to the same family since 1890, later running for a stretch as the Red Hook Yacht and Kayak Club, an informal social club where regulars paid on the honor system. Hurricane Sandy flooded the building in 2012, and it stayed shut for repairs until reopening in September 2013. There's no kitchen, seating mixes small tables and full booths for either a quiet visit or a crowd, and Tone's Bluegrass Jam still fills the back room every week.
