The dining room on Pico near 33rd Street sits under 28-foot ceilings, with a long bar lined by couches and high-tops and a patio beside it. Nick Shipp cooks from the Santa Monica Farmers Market and farms like Weiser and Niman Ranch, and the menu moves around: chargrilled octopus, braised short rib, a coffee-crusted Kurobuta pork tenderloin, a Flannery beef cheeseburger. Each season a different local artist hangs work on the walls. Once a month the bar hosts a pairing dinner with a spirits brand, and the place has been locally owned since it opened in 2010.
