In Plaza Las Fuentes at Los Robles and Union, the Pasadena branch of a Bay Area steakhouse grills its steaks over wood: 28-day dry-aged American beef, plus imported wagyu from Japan and Australia. The rest of the menu leans Japanese, with a hamachi shot in ponzu and dashi that you down in one go, fried rice with tobiko, and a wedge salad under rock shrimp. The omakase tasting menu includes A5 wagyu. Dinner ends with free cotton candy.
