The cafecito and guava-and-cheese pastelitos on this corner of Sunset and Silver Lake boulevards have outlasted several changes of owner and a sudden closure in December 2023; a different group reopened it three months later. It started as an ice cream shop in 1975 and has made Cuban coffee and pastries since the '90s. Besides the cubano, there are orange-glazed doughnuts, a jerk chicken sandwich and bacon, egg and cheese on coco bread. Inside there's a single row of tables, with a few more on the sidewalk; get there early for one.
