Musso & Frank Grill

Hollywood's oldest restaurant opened in 1919, and the grill is still the centerpiece of the dining room, worked by waiters and bartenders in the red coats they have worn for decades. The big room on the east side, known as the New Room, dates to 1955 and holds the bar, booths and chandeliers carried over from the 1934 Back Room, where Faulkner would go behind the bar and mix his own mint juleps. A 1930s phone booth at the back of the old room was the first public telephone in Hollywood.
