The Queen Mary

Launched into transatlantic service in 1936 after construction in Scotland, the Queen Mary once held the Blue Riband for the fastest Atlantic crossing, then spent the war years as a troopship carrying more than 800,000 Allied personnel. Long Beach bought the retired liner in 1967 and permanently moored her as a hotel and museum, with Art Deco staterooms and public rooms largely intact. General admission includes a short introductory tour and access to more than twenty exhibits, and after dark the ship runs separate ghost-themed walks through decks not open during the day.
