Ototo

The Tsubaki team runs this sake bar next door to their izakaya, built for a quick stop before or after a night out: there's no reservation book, just a clipboard to write your name on, and no table service beyond the bar. Sake fills a list built like an encyclopedia, organized by flavor rather than region, next to small plates like raw kanpachi, an okonomiyaki pancake, and a katsu sando. A members' sake club and a Sunday sake school at 4 p.m. round out the offerings, and most visits run about 45 minutes start to finish.
