Ron Schur has run this steak-and-seafood spot on Main Street since 1989, buying a restaurant that dated to 1934 on the Santa Monica pier before it moved here in 1946. Portholes, a captain's wheel, and set pieces obtained by actor Charles Laughton from Mutiny on the Bounty hang inside a room strung with Christmas lights year-round. Steaks and Dungeness crab cakes come alongside a house salad dressing that has stayed a secret recipe for decades, and the South Seas Bar in back works as a standalone dive for a drink any time of day.
