The Hook & Plow

A family-run restaurant group opened this spot in 2014 on upper Pier Avenue, on the stretch before the street slopes down toward the pier. Seafood, meat and produce come from as close by as the group can manage, down to wine and craft beer brewed a few miles off. The kitchen turns out a grilled pear and burrata salad, a club sandwich stacked with chicken, and seaweed-dusted furikake fries finished with truffle oil. The group has since grown to three more locations, in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Bend.
