Eat at Joe’s

The wall outside reads 'home of the John Wayne special,' a dish named for the actor: two eggs over medium with cheese on home fries and a corn tortilla, smothered in a secret Spanish sauce known only to the owner and the head cook, ringed with sausage patties. A life-size cardboard cutout of Wayne stands inside among blue-painted chairs, doors and beams against white walls, with communal seating at long tables. Joe opened the stand in 1969, and the diner passed to only its third owner in 2024.
