Isao Minami and Hisao Kasama, who met working the line at a Torrance Benihana, took over this Old Town Torrance space in 2017 after Maruhide Uni Club, the sea urchin specialist that had run there before them, closed. Uni turns up across the menu: raw over rice in a donburi bowl, folded into a pasta, or piled with salmon roe and gold leaf on the half shell. Yoppari Night, held the first and third Thursday of the month, pairs a rotating Japanese brewery with a one-off menu. Reservations, taken through Yelp, are recommended, and the kitchen closes Mondays.
