Chef-partners Kevin De Los Santos and Katya Shastova, both formerly of the tasting-menu restaurants Somni and Vespertine, opened this 22-table bistro a few blocks from the Hermosa Beach sand in November 2024. The kitchen splits its short menu into snacks, cold and hot: headcheese toast, yellowtail crudo with Russian eggplant salad, roast chicken with black-eyed peas, and a mussels pot pie. All the cooks double as servers, so whoever brings out a plate can explain how it came together. Wine stays reasonably priced and leans toward less familiar producers, and a candlelit patio out front seats those who'd rather eat outside.
