Rainbow Harbor's boardwalk district opened in 1982, built to resemble a 19th-century seaport village with wooden walkways and cobblestone paths. An antique carousel anchors the boardwalk, and visitors can rent bikes or personal watercraft, or book a harbor cruise, all within walking distance of the Aquarium of the Pacific. Restaurants and specialty shops line the water, with the Queen Mary visible across the harbor.
