555 East Steakhouse

Sam King and his cousin Jeff signed the lease the day before Thanksgiving in 1983 and opened the doors in June 1984, six weeks before Long Beach hosted events for the 1984 Olympics. Aside from a brief run as Domeric's East Village in 1993, the steakhouse has kept its original bar intact ever since, dry-aging its own beef in house for up to 90 days. A parklet added during the pandemic gives outdoor seating a view down Linden Avenue toward the water, and a piano plays in the lounge some nights.
