Pine Avenue's oldest building, a 1903 Masonic Temple designed by architect Henry Starbuck, now holds this brewery, coffee roaster and restaurant across four sprawling levels, including a basement the owners dug out to fit the fermentation tanks. Owners Chris Evans and Jon Sweeney hired Derek Wasak, who spent twelve years brewing at Stone in San Diego, to make lagers and West Coast-style IPAs. The kitchen turns out artisan pizzas and seasonal plates, and the coffee side pours the brewery's own roast starting as early as 6 a.m.
