Fei Xiang Gong

A three-dollar valet stand sits below the second-floor Koreatown plaza that holds this restaurant, open since the summer of 2019. The kitchen cooks food from Jilin Province, the corner of China that borders North Korea, and the menu carries cold noodles, Dongbei-style dumplings, and skewers of lamb, pork, offal and seafood that turn on their own motors built into the table. A warming rack up top holds whatever finishes first, so nothing burns while you work through something else. Staff switch between Mandarin and English, and the kitchen recommends a group of four to get through the menu.
