Mountain San has grilled Korean barbecue in Koreatown since 1974, making it one of the country's oldest Korean restaurants; the original spot on 6th Street stayed open around the clock before the current space combined it with the owners' noodle shop. The abalone porridge is the same recipe served since opening day, alongside USDA Prime beef, dry-aged pork, and banchan made fresh daily. Tables sit under loud overhead vents on the third floor of Koreatown Plaza, where servers grill beef belly and ribeye tableside and the acoustics turn dinner into an echo chamber.
