Opened in 1990 by David Lott and David Hansen, the brewpub sits on the Belmont Shore bluff above the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier, away from the crowds along 2nd Street, and is the oldest operating brewpub in Southern California. Brewer David Blackwell has run the seven-barrel system since 1999, turning out beers like a Strawberry Blonde and a seasonal Black IPA alongside seafood such as macadamia-crusted mahi mahi and steamed clams, plus a complimentary half-loaf of warm bread before the meal. Booths and high-top tables in the bar area face the water and the sunset.
