Fifteen stairs off Crescent Avenue lead to the second floor of the Rose Building, where the windows face Avalon Bay and the Green Pleasure Pier. Steve Bray, a third-generation islander whose grandfather was Avalon's first judge, opened it in 2001 after years managing other restaurants in town. The beef is corn-fed Angus aged at least 28 days, served alongside local seafood. Tables are first come, first served for parties under eight, and the window seats go first.
