In the Metropole Marketplace on Crescent Avenue, a short walk from the ferry landing, this coastal Italian restaurant looks out over Avalon Harbor. Dinner is mostly seafood and pasta: Manila clams, calamari, sand dabs, swordfish, lobster and house-made meatballs, plus steaks and vegetarian plates. The wine list pulls from California, Italy, France and New Zealand. Brenda and Steve Hoefs own it along with Maggie's Blue Rose and the Catalina Island Brew House, and on weekends they open in the morning for brunch.
