Before becoming a comedy club, 8162 Melrose Avenue was home to the Ash Grove, a folk music venue that the Improv took over in 1974. From 1982 to 1996, this location hosted the A&E series An Evening at the Improv, which put its stage at the center of stand-up's television era. Shows run nightly. A food and drink menu is served through the sets, with tickets booked through the club's own site.
