In the Malibu Country Mart off Cross Creek Road, this steakhouse slices its porterhouse Peter Luger style and tops its potato skins with caviar. It's the second Lucky's, after the Montecito original from 2000, and belongs to the restaurant group of Lucky Brand entrepreneur Gene Montesano. The rest of the menu stays old-school: matzo ball soup, a bowl of chili, lamb chops, meatloaf, a chopped salad with shrimp and prosciutto. Walk-ins get the wainscoted bar and lounge. The house asks guests to leave the beachwear and flip-flops at home.
